Fashion passes, style remains – Gabrielle Chanel
To celebrate the milestone Creative Director Frida Giannini has re-vamped the iconic Horsebit Loafer with a special edition range.
The must-have pieces come in bold colours and materials such as crocodile, patent, suede and python. Each loafer includes a special “60th anniversary tag” as well as all traditional horsebit and gold hardware.
The Horsebit Loafer was born back in 1953; the style, structure and design have remained the same making it one of the most sought after pieces from the Gucci archives.
The legendary fashion accessory has been part of the permanent collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art since 1985.
Therefore purchasing a pair of these celebratory shoes would be like buying a piece of fashion history – I’m in!
In-fact all the Gucci talk got me thinking about the Aladdin’s cave I have in my dressing room – I knew I had some Gucci pieces hanging around up there – yes its true I can forgot about expensive luxury items – my bad!
Do you appreciate the Horsebit loafer’s legacy?
